Monday Night Football's contest between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams will go down as one of the all-time greats in NFL history after it produced some crazy and record-breaking numbers.

In what was an absolutely thrilling contest between two high-octane offenses, the Rams managed to defeat the Chiefs 54-51 on the night, moving to a 10-1 record as a result.

The two team's combined for 105 points, which is the third-most in NFL history. It was the highest-scoring game of the 773 Monday night games that have ever been played. It was the first game ever where both teams scored 50 points or more.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, via Adam Schefter of ESPN, this was also the first in NFL history which a team had scored 50 points in a game and had failed to win.

This is crazy to think about when you consider entering the game, NFL teams scoring 50+ points were 216-0 all-time.

The scoreboard wasn't the only place where incredible numbers were posted, as several stat lines were also exceptional.

The Rams and Chiefs gained 1,001 yards, 827 through the air and 174 on the ground. They also combined for 144 plays, seven turnovers, seven punts, and 14 touchdowns, 11 of them on offense and three on defense.

The game featured six lead changes, including four in the fourth quarter alone. Each team had two consecutive scores twice as well.

As for personal player performances, both teams had at least one player with unbelievable stats.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for six touchdowns, the second time which he has done this all year. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill had 10 catches for 215 yards and two touchdowns.

As for the Rams, running back Todd Gurley, who entered the game with 17 touchdowns on the season, didn’t find the end zone at all, finishing with 55 rushing yards and 39 receiving yards. Rams defender Sam Ebukam also had two defensive touchdowns.

With both the Chiefs and the Rams playing so well in their respective conferences, Monday night's game might have been a preview of a Super Bowl to come in the future.
