We've had some pretty amazing clashes in 2018 under the UFC banner.

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov went to war in an infamous battle in Las Vegas, Stipe Miocic survived the knockout power of Francis Ngannou and we've still got Jon Jones against Alexander Gustafsson to come before the year is over.

But ever since their Octagon showdown at UFC 226, the fight that everyone wants to see happen is Brock Lesnar against Daniel Cormier.

We got one step closer to making the fight happen after Cormier submitted Derrick Lewis in the second round of their UFC 230 clash at Madison Square Garden.

And despite Dana White claiming that Cormier's team have told the champion to retire, he wants to see Cormier face Jon Jones at the heavyweight weight class.

Jones of course is tied-up with Gustafsson at the end of 2018, so a third clash between the pair in early 2019 is out of the question - but the Lesnar bout has been so hyped up now that it would be stupid not to do it.

Lesnar's manager Paul Heyman was asked about the potential fight by TMZ, and he revealed that there's only one way that the UFC can prevent the clash of the titans from happening.

“As long as Daniel Cormier has the balls to step into the Octagon and put his title up against Brock Lesnar and UFC comes up with the money for Brock Lesnar, I don’t see anything that would keep Brock Lesnar from taking the fight,” Heyman simply stated.

Money has always been a big thing to Lesnar, every recent WWE contract he has signed has been for reportedly huge cash.

And you would think that Lesnar would step back into the Octagon purely for his love of the sport and it's competitiveness - the company are likely to offer him big bucks anyway.

After Dana's latest comments on Cormier and his team though, nothing is certain when it comes to 2019's huge fights.
