The highly-anticipated heavyweight contest between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury in Los Angeles is fast approaching.

The pair will go head-to-head at the Staples Center on December 1 - and both have a point to prove.

Wilder, the WBC heavyweight champion, is attempting to show a number of boxing fans that he is deserving a shot to become the unified champ.

As for Fury, he is attempting to complete a remarkable comeback by claiming the belt he has never owned.

Recent images of the Gypsy King show the incredible transformation that has taken place in the space of a year.

Fury weighed 28.5 stone during his boxing hiatus. Now, he looks in better shape than he did when he defeated Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.

The 30-year-old will need to upset the odds to defeat Wilder but one man who believes he will do so is Nathan Gorman.

'He's a nightmare to fight'

Gorman, an undefeated heavyweight, has sparred with Fury. And he believes that Wilder, despite possessing a knockout punch, will struggle to land against the Brit.

“I just think he’s too good, too awkward. He’s 6 ft 9, 19 stone, switch-hitter who can move, he’s a nightmare to fight," Gorman told iFL TV.

“If Wilder hits you, it’s curtains. He’s probably the most single-handed devastating knockout puncher in the world today. If he hits you, and he’s got 36 minutes to do so, it’s curtains with anyone in the world.

“But I just don’t think he’ll land on Tyson.

“Tyson will make him move. He’ll make him miss and make him pay. He’s too good and he’s got too much in the arsenal for him.

Gorman also explained just how awkward Fury is to fight.

“You can’t describe him,” he added. “One minute he’ll have his hands down. One minute he’ll hand his hands up. One minute he’s southpaw. One minute he’s doing spinning backfists.

“You can’t describe him. You would never teach someone to box like Tyson. He’s his own unique style.”

Wilder has brought in Malik Scott to try to imitate Fury’s style in the ring.

But Gorman doesn’t know how much that will really help the American.

“You can’t imitate him. There’s only one of him,” he said.
