The footballing world has come down with an unexpected case of 'Copa Libertadores fever'.South America's version of the Champions League is usually not much of a topic on European shores, but it certainly has been recently. That's because the final two teams were none other than Boca Juniors and River Plate, the two members of football's fiercest rivalry. Both Argentinian giants have never met each other in the final, hence the reason why the game has received worldwide attention. The first leg in La Bombonera certainly lived up to the billing, with River managing to take a 2-2 draw back to the Monumental for the second-leg on Saturday evening.Dario Benedetto's late miss for Boca could prove decisive in the tie. Now, part of the reason why the game is so revered around the globe is due to the fanatic support of the Argentine fans. It's unlike anything in the world, but even people on social media were simply stunned by the footage from Boca's stadium for their open training session.Fans had to be turned away, with 55,000 arriving to simply see their players train. And Rory Smith, the chief football writer at the New York Times, shared his personal view of the scenes at La Bombonera. This almost defies description.

That level of passion and support is almost a bit too much.

Imagine trying to practice taking penalties in that kind of atmosphere.

However, one positive for the Boca players will be that the fans have pretty much recreated the feeling of match day for training.

River were the last of the two sides to lift the Libertadores trophy back in 2015, taking their personal tally to three.

As for Boca, they've won the trophy six times, the second most of any South American team - fellow Argentine side Independiente hold the record with seven.

Buenos Aires is going to be truly bouncing come Saturday.
