There appears to be little doubt that versatile Ajax winger Urby Emanuelson is on his way out of the Eredivise after clubs from England, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain have shown an interest have shown an interest in signing the Dutch international.

The Holland international's future has been the subject of conjecture with his current deal to expire next summer.

Ajax are keen to keep the mercurial winger but have seen their most recent contract proposal rebuffed by the left-sided player.

This leaves Emanuelson free to leave the Amsterdam Arena for nothing and this hasn't gone unnoticed in Europe, especially over at Anfield.

Roy Hodgson is keen on bring in a wide player as he is concerned that his current side do not have enough width. The only natural wide player on the books at Liverpool is Joe Cole, whilst Dirk Kuyt, Milan Jovanovic and Ryan Babel all being used on the wings despite being their favoured position being central.

Accoring to a report in Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Liverpool, fresh off an impressive win over Chelsea at the weekend, and Italian giants Juventus are just two of the clubs that are closely monitoring the situation very closely.

Interest in the Dutch international is intensifying week by week and Emanuelson is said to be keen to ply his trade elsewhere as he looks for a new challenge in his career.

Clubs such as Genoa, Lazio, Villarreal, Malaga, Benfica, Porto, Hoffenheim, Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Hamburg are all eager to add Emanuelson to their squads for next season.

"There are plenty of interest clubs. I won't confirm or deny any names though. However, I've told interested teams that Urby won't leave Ajax during the winter transfer window," Brian Berkleef, Emanuelson's agent, was quoted as saying.

If Roy Hodgson can convince Emanuelson that Anfield is the right place for him to progress, then it would represent a major coup for the Merseyside club. He would cost them nothing and they would be stealing a march over some of Europe's titan clubs with the signature.

The 24-year-old Emanuelson is a product of the famed Ajax youth academy and has made over 150 senior appearances for 'de Amsterdammers' and has 11 caps for Holland.
