WWE ran an angle at the top of Monday Night Raw this week where Braun Strowman was attacked by Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, and Bobby Lashley at the top of the show.

On Raw, Strowman was positioned by McIntyre and Lashley with his elbow exposed on top of some steel steps while Corbin held another set of steel steps in his hands.

The Lone Wolf then smacked The Monster Among Men's elbow with the other set of steel steps, resulting in what WWE is calling a 'shattered elbow' for Strowman.

Reports earlier this week confirmed that while Strowman does in fact have an elbow injury, it's not as serious as WWE is making it out to be. However, he does require surgery.

According to PWInsider, The Monster Among Men will undergo elbow surgery after dealing with bone spurs for several months. It will take place in Birmingham, Alabama on Monday.

Strowman's elbow injury is believed to be minor and something which WWE can work around, meaning his upcoming match against Corbin at TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs on December 16 will likely still take place.

WWE's overselling of Strowman's injury is something which they have done several times in the past with other superstars, and it's to make his 'sooner than expected' return seem superhuman.

A lot is on the line for both Strowman and Corbin at TLC next month. As well as being a TLC match, three other stipulations are tied to the outcome of the match.

If The Monster Among Men defeats the acting Raw general manager, he will get a Universal Championship opportunity against Brock Lesnar at the 2019 Royal Rumble, and Corbin will lose all authority.

However, if The Lone Wolf beats Strowman, then he will become the permanent general manager of Monday Night Raw.

With this elbow surgery coming up on Monday, it wouldn't be surprising if he was to miss Raw on that night. If he has a recovery set back and misses TLC, don't be surprised either if WWE finds a way to still book Strowman vs Lesnar at the Royal Rumble next year.

We should find out how long Strowman will be on the sidelines for once he undergoes surgery on his elbow this coming Monday.
