It's been over a year since Neville last wrestled for the WWE, but he was only released from his contract with the company back in August after they froze it for ten months.
The Man That Gravity Forgot is unlikely to make a WWE return anytime soon due to the manner in which his previous time with the company ended. He reportedly left due to contract disputes and didn't appear for WWE between October 2017 and August 2018 despite being under contract.
His last televised match for the WWE was against Ariya Daivari during an episode of 205 Live. At the time, he was feuding against Enzo Amore for the Cruiserweight Championship, who is also no longer part of the company.
Now competing for Dragon Gate under the name PAC, Neville recently did a Q&A on his Instagram account where he revealed why he truly left WWE.
Neville explained, via Wrestling Inc, that the reason why he left WWE was that they ran out of ideas for him.
He said: “No, they gave me the opportunity to shine and shine I did. The lads over there are great but they ran of ideas for me so I left” adding further that he disagreed with how he was booked."
Neville also explained his true feelings on Enzo after spending time with him in the WWE, stating that he found him really annoying backstage.
He said: “It wasn’t really Enzo why I left, I don’t hate the lad he was just annoying backstage and putting the title on him was bad, especially beating me, I was worth more than being jobbed out to jobbers, that’s why I left.”
Neville also said that Vince McMahon was a "Powerful man won't say much though he'd sue me 4 times in a row."
It's not surprising that Neville was annoyed with WWE for allowing a wrestler of Enzo's ability to beat him for the Cruiserweight title and the manner which their feud was booked.
Now, PAC is getting the booking he desires by wrestling promoters, as he is using his status as one of the best wrestlers on the independent circuit to get what he wants.
He's is one of the most in-demand wrestlers on the indies at the moment, but for the time being, he's staying exclusive to Dragon Gate.
With top talent like Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks being teased with possible moves to the WWE, PAC could become the biggest star on the independent circuit with top promotions like Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling coming after him very soon.
