The upcoming heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder is unquestionably one of the biggest fights of 2018 - if not *the* biggest.The two men go head-to-head at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on December 1 aiming to keep their unbeaten records in check.Wilder, the defending WBC heavyweight champion, obviously has far more to lose than his opponent. However, the American is supremely confident that he has more than enough quality to defeat Fury, who has only fought twice since beating Wladimir Klitschko three-and-a-half years ago.Fury, on the other hand, has nothing to lose - aside from his unbeaten professional record - and everything to gain.The 30-year-old, who beat Sefer Seferi and Francesco Planeta earlier this month, will further cement his status as one of Britain’s all-time great heavyweights should he inflict a first career defeat on his charismatic opponent.The winner of this fight is expected to take on Anthony Joshua in 2019; however, British boxing’s current golden boy will not be ringside at the Staples Centre next weekend.Joshua will instead honour a pre-arranged day working for a sponsor - and admits he won’t even watch the fight live on TV because it won’t start until the early hours of the morning in the UK.“Unfortunately the fight's on too early for me, so I'll be sleeping, but I enjoy watching the highlights,” Joshua was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.“I need Wilder to win, and that way it gives me more of an opportunity to fight him, because as a champion, if he retains his belt. I think that's the fight people have been yearning for.”However, Joshua’s decision not to attend the fight has resulted in one boxing fan raising an interesting point on Twitter.“For a man who’s ‘desperate’ to be undisputed, Joshua has a funny way of showing it,” @Macho_Grande1 wrote on Twitter.“AJ wasn’t ringside for Wilder Stiverne, he wasn’t ringside for Wilder Ortiz, he wont be ringside for Wilder Fury & he didn’t want Wilder ringside for his own fight against Parker.“Bizarre.”
