Cristiano Ronaldo endured a pretty slow start to life at Juventus after his £99.2 million summer move from Real Madrid, but he's well and truly up and running now.The Portuguese icon became the fastest player to score ten goals for Juve on Saturday as he opened the scoring in a 2-0 win over SPAL.Ronaldo's clinical side-footed finish from Miralem Pjanic's cross in the 28th-minute put his new team on their way to a victory which leaves them eight points clear at the top of Serie A.Cristiano has been firing on all cylinders in recent weeks, however, during the match against SPAL he actually missed an open goal from no more than three yards out.It was a hugely uncharacteristic moment from the deadly forward, but the way he reacted to the miss suggests there is a lighter side to his mentality.

Cristiano's reaction to missing open goal against SPAL

With the score at 1-0, Juventus had a free-kick in a dangerous position and worked it very well, with Pjanic laying off the ball for Douglas Costa to strike.

As you'll see further down the page, the Brazilian winger unleashed a ferocious hit which cannoned off the post and fell into the path of Ronaldo.

The 33-year-old had to react incredibly quickly, but being inside the six-yard box and with SPAL goalkeeper Alfred Gomis on the ground, he would've expected to score.

Ronaldo's attempt went wide and, after getting over the initial disappointment of neither him or Costa finding the back of the net, he gestured towards the linesman (2:06 in the video).

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was correctly flagged offside and appeared to be thankful that his blushes had been spared, pointing out the linesman with what looked like a "thumbs-up".

Is Ronaldo happier at Juventus?

We all know that Cristiano lives for scoring goals, but this light-hearted moment was another example of how much the superstar seems to be enjoying his football this season.

Whether or not he was happy with the official, could you imagine him cracking a smile after such a close-range miss during his time at the Bernabeu?

In his latest performances, Ronaldo's formed an understanding with Juan Cuadrado, Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic, finding his own best form in the process.

Real Madrid's all-time top scorer now has ten goals and five assists in 16 games for the Italian champions in addition to several Man of the Match awards.

Ronaldo and Juve now return to Champions League action and will look to bounce back from the 2-1 loss to Manchester United when they host Valencia on Tuesday.
