Despite being arguably the best and most entertaining wrestler on Monday nights in WWE, there's been something slightly forgettable about Seth Rollins' latest Intercontinental Championship reign.Ever since he began his second stint as champion, storylines seem to have gotten in the way of him showcasing his true champion-like instincts. He was pitted in a multi-man storyline with his Shield brothers Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose just after SummerSlam, and in that time captured the Raw Tag Team belts from Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. And as Braun Strowman and his cronies terrorised the faction, we got very little in the way of Rollins defending his other belt. The last time Rollins put his title on the line in-fact was against Ziggler the night after Hell In A Cell in a victorious effort against The Show-Off.Now embarking on what could be a long-term feud with Dean Ambrose, the fact that the Kingslayer holds the prestigious strap over his shoulder could be overshadowed by the personal level the two will no doubt be working towards. But despite Ambrose's distractions, Seth has now announced that he's bringing back something that was very popular to Monday Night Raw and is set to showcase his immense talent. As revealed on his official Twitter account, the Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge is returning to the red brand, with Rollins himself stating that he's keen to test himself against anyone.

The last challenge came on August 27, when Kevin Owens answered but was ultimately defeated by the former WWE Champion.

With Ambrose out of the question due to their match at TLC next month, it raises some interesting match-ups and potential scenarios.

We could perhaps see someone like Drew McIntyre challenge Rollins, or we could get another sure-fire classic with Finn Balor.

205 Live sensation Mustafa Ali has even hinted at answering the call - and what a match that would be.

There's also the possibility that Rollins loses the strap to someone and his match with Ambrose becomes non-title, and let's be honest - it's a feud that doesn't need to be contested with a belt.
