The 2018 Formula 1 season came to an end on Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.Lewis Hamilton crossed the finishing line first for the 11th time this season to cap off a brilliant season. His win meant he finished the campaign 88 points clear from Sebastien Vettel in the World Drivers' Championship standings.Completing the podium in the final race of the season was Vettel and Max Verstappen.Fernando Alonso finished outside the points in his last ever race in the sport.Elsewhere, it proved to be a good end to the season for Romain Grosjean. The French driver picked up points for the second consecutive race as he finished in ninth. After the race, Grosjean decided to perform donuts to celebrate the end of the season. However, footage has since revealed he did so against team orders.Grosjean can be heard saying: 'am I allowed to donuts' over team radio, to which he got an emphatic no.Despite being told not to, Grosjean replied 'what does that mean' before proceeding to do as he wished anyway. He has now reacted to the incident on Twitter and he's done so brilliantly. After he was exposed for defying team orders, he wrote: "Was pretty sure I heard YES from Gary on the radio 🤣🤣🤣 #r8g #donut #AbuDhabiGP"

Gold. His team won't be happy with him, but Formula One fans will appreciate the entertainment his actions brought.

During the race, Grosjean was involved with an altercation Nico Hulkenberg which saw the German crash out of the race.

It has been revealed that Grosjean checked with team radio whether Hulkenberg was alright, and then addressed the incident on Twitter after the race.

"Double points finish on the last one of 2018. Great work again by the whole @HaasF1Team," he wrote.

"Glad to see that @HulkHulkenberg is ok after our contact. Saw him after the race, no hard feelings.

"He thought I had cut the chicane, I thought he was going to leave some room on the inside."
