Diego Costa has always been a bit of a fiery character.

The Spanish striker, who loves a bit of controversy, is never far from the headlines and always for the wrong reasons it seems.

Costa’s emotions have often got the better of him on the field leading to some very unsavoury scenes, but many feel that his competitiveness is what makes him such a valuable player.

You can’t argue that he might benefit from keeping his emotions in check more often from time to time.

Who really wants to see a cool, calm and collected Diego Costa, though? Not us.

Unsurprisingly, the Brazilian born man saw his temper boil over for the umpteenth time during Atletico Madrid’s massive clash with La Liga table-toppers Barcelona.

In what was a tense affair, Costa came to blows with defender Samuel Umtiti as the pair were eventually separated by their teammates.

However, in the aftermath of the tussle Costa seemed to focus all of his anger on colleague Antoine Griezmann who he seemed to feel took Umtiti’s (his national teammate) side.

Fans were rightly confused with Costa’s actions towards the Frenchman who simply looked to be playing peace-maker during the coming together.

Now, some of those fans seem to have figured out exactly what Costa had to say to the World Champion.

Costa venomously fired just four words in Griezmanns direction: “I am your teammate!“.

He said it over and over as the side prepared for a corner clearly showing some very real frustration with his strike partner.

Costa was not impressed in the slightest with Griezmann and it was clear for all to see.

You can watch a video of the altercation between the two below.

Costa wasn’t about to let that one go, was he?

As is his way though, Costa then went on to score what was very nearly a winner, with Ousmane Dembele equalising for the Catalans in the 90th minute.

Costa is one of those players who performs better right on the edge of meltdown and it showed again on Saturday.

Griezmann might want to pick his battles more wisely next time though - you don’t want to get on the wrong side of big Diego.
