Last week on Monday Night Raw, WWE produced an angle so that Braun Strowman could spend some time away from the ring in order to have elbow surgery.

Baron Corbin attacked The Monster Among Men's elbow with a steel chair, leaving him in pain, as well as writing him off television for what many initially thought would be just a couple of weeks.

Strowman has a match at TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs later this month against Corbin with a lot on the line, so many WWE fans believed he would be back by this point at the latest.

However, following an announcement by the man himself on Raw last night, his injury could be worse than initially feared, according to reports.

Strowman made an appearance on Raw on the big screen, announcing that he was just about to undergo surgery due to bone spurs in his elbow.

He said: “Do I have any apprehensions? Maybe. But I know one thing. I will be back 100 percent.

"And when I am, the attack on me last week — and the gore the surgeon is going to go through on my surgery today — are gonna seem like paper cuts compared to what I do to Corbin, Lashley, and McIntyre.”

The injury update he gave on Raw though failed to mention when he would be returning to the ring.

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Strowman reaggravated his elbow injury at Survivor Series. His promo on Raw has lead to speculation that his injury could be a lot worse than initially feared.

The Monster Among Men is expected to be out for about a month with his injury, which would bring him back just before TLC. This is why the match was never called off on Raw last night as there is still hope that he can compete.

However, if the injury is worse than previously thought, he could end up missing the show, which would be a disaster for WWE.

WWE can't afford for Strowman to miss TLC, since the Raw brand has no true top main event babyface star without him. The brand wouldn't have a leg to stand on entering the pay-per-view.

Many fans have already dubbed last night's Raw the worst in the show's history, but more bad shows could be on the horizon if The Monster Among Men is out of action for longer than expected.
