After months of build-up and trash talk, this weekend we finally get to see Tyson Fury take on Deontay Wilder for the WBC World Heavyweight Title. The bout promises to be one of the year’s biggest – and not just in terms of the scale of the two men fighting.Earlier this year, Fury made his return to the sport after a 31-month absence, where the Gypsy King revealed he had been struggling with mental health issues. After consecutive wins against Sefer Seferi and Francesco Pianeta in the space of a few months, Fury set his sights on reclaiming his place at the top of the heavyweight division. The man in his way: a 40-0 knockout artist by the name of Wilder.Wilder, himself, has gained a cult following in his homeland due to his ferocious knockout power. In fact, just one of the American’s wins has come via decision.Ahead of the two’s eagerly-anticipated bout in LA, tweets have resurfaced of the two beefing each other from as early as six years ago.The first exchange dates back to February 2012, when Wilder was a 20-0 contender. On the 25th, he tweeted: “Okay world since no one wants to fight me willingly I will start calling you out personally, starting with you @Tyson_Fury.”

Three days later, Wilder realised Fury didn’t actually have a Twitter.

To which he tweeted: “Someone tell @tyson_fury to get a Twitter account. Either he is ignoring me or no one’s home."

The first time Fury acknowledged Wilder on Twitter was in December of the same year, where he tweeted: “Just watched Wilder fight! Not impressed at all he wouldn’t beat Kevin Johnson! Very raw and open to big shots! Long way to go!”

However, it wasn’t until March of the following year where the two finally exchanged words through the magic of Twitter.

On March 13, 2013, Fury tweeted: “Say it all Bronze Bomber three place loser who fights bums. Man, you are a laughing stock you even use the three place your name.”

To which Wilder responded: “You’re the biggest joke in the game, it started when you upper-cut yourself in the face. You’re the queen of b*****s.”

It didn't stop there, however.

Wow. What a trip down memory lane.

Thankfully, the trash-talking didn’t stop there. And finally, after six years of anticipation, we’ll see the two come to blows this weekend.
