Rey Mysterio is one of the most beloved WWE superstars in the history of the company but everyone knows that he's coming near to the end of his career in the ring.
This will most likely be The Master of the 619's last run with the WWE before he calls it a day and rides off into the sunset of retirement.
Hopefully it will be a couple more years before that day arrives, and the man himself has spoken about when he might retire during an interview this week.
During a recent appearance on Lilian Garcia's podcast, via NoDQ, Mysterio talked about when he plans to retire. He stated that he doesn't plan on wrestling in five years time.
He said: “I’m definitely getting close to shutting down sometimes in the next couple of years. I definitely don’t see myself going past five years. That’s without a doubt you know and I just wouldn’t wanna do it for the sake of my body and what I’ve gone through.
“You know I think I’ve done the work at home and I’ve brought the money in and my wife has been very smart to administrate everything at home.
"She’s been a wife, a mother, a friend, and she’s been my accountant all these years and my administrator and she’s known how to handle the money and how to invest and how to move it around in the right direction.
“I don’t want to have to keep doing this because I have to. I wanna keep doing it because I love it and you know I still feel like I have a little bit more to give to the audience.”
Mysterio will turn 44 next month on December 11, so in five years time, he will be 49 years old. If he is wrestling every week between now and then, that will be a lot on the body in terms of wear and tear. It wouldn't be surprising if he calls it a day before then.
The Master of the 619 has been wrestling on SmackDown Live since his WWE return and is currently in a feud with Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura.
