The New York Giants are only one or two more losses away from being eliminated from playoff contention in the NFC, but they're playing reasonable football nevertheless.

The Giants narrowly loss 25-21 to their NFC East rivals in the Philadelphia Eagles after being ahead in the game. Despite the Eagles missing four of their top five cornerbacks, the Giants only had 56 total yards in the second half of the game.

As a result, one of New York's most outspoken players, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., made his voice heard and publicly criticized his head coach, Pat Shurmur, for the plan the team had for the game.

Beckham was not happy that his team failed to exploit their opponents for their weakened secondary. Shurmur disagreed with his star receiver during an interview with ESPN.

He said: “We ran the ball 18 times, we threw it 37. That is twice as many throws as there were runs. We had seven explosive gains in the passing game. The only team that we played that we had more was Carolina. We had eight.

"There were many times where we tried to throw to him. The long throw down the right sideline that we had to [tight end] Rhett [Ellison] was designed to go to Odell. They cushioned on him. We threw it to Rhett.

"You’ll have to ask him to define it after he watches the tape but I felt like we were doing the things necessary to win the game. We still got production in the running game, had a couple third-down calls in the red zone that were close. If we get those in, it’s a different story.”

Beckham finished the game against the Eagles with just five catches on nine targets for 85 yards. He has 74 receptions on the season for 1,017 yards and five touchdowns.

This isn't the first time which the wide receiver has complained about the team either. Despite the fact he's only in his first year as head coach too, Pat Shurmur is under pressure to perform between now and the end of the season.

Beckham and the Giants will look to bounce back from their Week 12 loss when they play against the Chicago Bears this weekend.
