Jose Mourinho decided to give Marcus Rashford the chance to play in his natural position against Young Boys on Tuesday night.
In what was an important Champions League game, Mourinho thought that Rashford would be a better option than Romelu Lukaku.
However, although the youngster was lively throughout, it just wasn't his night.
Rashford missed golden chances in either half as he failed to capitalise on his chance.
His first miss, which came after just a couple of minutes, can be described as a sitter.
While one-on-one with the goalkeeper, all that Rashford needed to do was lift the ball over him and into the net.
However, he put too much power on the ball and it looped over the bar.
It really was a golden opportunity and he definitely should have scored. And Mourinho clearly thought the same.
The cameras immediately panned to Mourinho, who turned around to his bench and shook his head in disbelief.
Watch his reaction here:
Gary Lineker was presenting BT Sport's coverage of the game and he had his say on the incident at half-time.
And it's fair to say he did not approve of Mourinho's actions.
He said: "I must say as a centre-forward, if I saw my manager react like that, I would be absolutely livid."
His view was then supported by Rio Ferdinand, who added: "That says it all, exactly what you said there.
"He's obviously going to see that after the game, and what type of message is that going to send to him? That's the problem."
In all honesty, it does seem like Lineker and Ferdinand are overreacting.
Mourinho had every right to be frustrated given his team had missed a good chance.
It's not as if he berated Rashford, either.
Man United fans were also unhappy with the reaction of Lineker and Ferdinand and made their feelings known on Twitter.
Even a Liverpool fan came to Mourinho's defence.
Fortunately for Rashford, his misses did not prove costly as Marouane Fellaini scored a stoppage time goal to give United the victory.
They have now qualified for the knockout stages after Valencia were beaten 1-0 by Juventus.
