The biggest heavyweight fight of the year is just three days away.

While Anthony Joshua is the most marketable star in the division, it's impossible to deny that Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury is the most intriguing matchup of 2018.

The two unbeaten superstars meet at the LA Staples Center for the WBC strap and the winner will then look to conquer Joshua at some point next year.

One of the three aforementioned fighters should unify the division in 2019.

Wilder goes into Saturday night's fight as the favourite with the bookies, but a lot of boxing fans think Fury could pull of a surprise in the US.

He looks fitter than ever, but could lack sharpness in the ring after two underwhelming comeback fights against Sefer Seferi and Francesco Pianeta.

Wilder and Fury had their final press conference on Wednesday evening and things got very heated during the face-off.

Wilder appeared to poke Fury in the eye, with the Gypsy King then ending up topless, goading the Bronze Bomber.

The kind of thing you expect after their antics throughout the build up.

And after the incident, Fury made a pretty big claim about Wilder's past sparring sessions with Wladimir Klitschko - the man the Gypsy King dethroned back in 2015.

FURY'S SPARRING CLAIM

Fury is asked by a reporter if he believes Wilder is a bigger test than Klitschko and he replies: "No way. Nowhere near.

"Wilder ain't on Wladimir Klitschko's level and I heard off a good source that when Klitschko and Wilder sparred, Klitschko dropped him twice, twice.

"He got out the ring and he couldn't continue. Klitschko didn't even land a glove on me."

A genuine revelation by Fury, or some more masterful mind games from the lineal heavyweight champion?

Who's to say, but come Sunday morning, we'll find out whether Fury still has the skillset to beat the very best yet again.
