The January transfer window could be pivotal to Manchester United's Premier League chances in 2018/19.
Jose Mourinho's side have endured a torrid start to the season, with progression to the last-16 of the Champions League the only real positive.
Defensively they've been a shambles, Romelu Lukaku looks like he may never score again and Paul Pogba just can't show any consistency.
As such, United have been linked with January moves for a number of defenders, midfielders and forwards.
And Manchester Evening News asked fans to vote on which of their seven top targets they would prefer to sign.
The septet were; Marko Arnautovic, Toby Alderweireld, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Kalidou Koulibaly, Milan Skriniar, Nikola Milenkovic and Axel Witsel.
Kouliably - 83% Yes | 17% No
Skriniar - 73% Yes | 27% No
Pellegrini - 70% Yes | 30% No
Milenkovic - 60% Yes | 40% No
Alderweireld - 57% Yes | 43% No
Witsel - 39% Yes | 61% No
Arnautovic - 38% Yes | 62% No
THE FANS WANT A DEFENDER
So it's evident that United supporters are craving a top-class centre-back, particularly one from Serie A.
Koulibaly and Skriniar would likely command a huge fee, but after their performance in the last year for Napoli and Inter Milan respectively, it would probably be worthwhile.
The lack of support for the interest in Borussia Dortmund's Witsel suggests that fans do not want another player in the mould of Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini.
If United are to try and sign a new midfielder in January, Pellegrini is the appealing option after starring for Roma in 2018/19 - he's much more of a creative option as well.
As for Arnautovic, well, the fans clearly have some faith left in Lukaku and Marcus Rashford as the strikers.
The real big surprise on the seven-man list is the lack of love for Alderweireld, who was one of Mourinho's main targets in the summer.
Tottenham's Belgian centre-back is the only pragmatic option on the list with Premier League experience, but United fans clearly favour the Italian options.
