Liverpool fan's video of Alisson's individual highlights in 2-1 PSG defeat backfires

On a night where Liverpool were comfortably second best, Alisson produced a great performance to keep the scoreline down to 2-1 against Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool's £67m goalkeeper made a number of important saves to deny the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

His commanding display showed why Gianluigi Buffon, who started for PSG down the other end of the pitch, rates him as one of the top three goalkeepers in the world.

"Alisson is everything a modern goalkeeper needs to be," Buffon told the Mirror before the game. "Liverpool have conceded very few goals this season.

"He might be a new name for those in England but for me it is no surprise. I have been watching him for some years now and am a big admirer.

"He is comfortable with the ball, he is an excellent shot-stopper and I see that he gives confidence to his defence.

"He is one of the top three goalkeepers in the world right now and has everything to go on and be a great of his position."

Alisson once again had Liverpool fans raving about his class and importance to the team after the PSG defeat - and understandably so.

One fan even created a highlights reel of the Brazilian's best moments at the Parc des Princes, which you can watch below.

Liverpool fans can't be blamed for being delighted with Alisson, especially given their recent history of goalkeepers, but the above compilation has somewhat backfired.

While Alisson made a couple of strong saves in the video, namely at 0:10, rival fans have pointed out that a lot of them were pretty routine and would be saved by most goalkeepers.

The first save, for example, was at a comfortable height, while a large portion of the rest were straight at Alisson. Here's how football fans have been reacting.

Perhaps rivals fans are just jealous, but there's no doubting Alisson has produced much better saves and much better performances than what's shown in the video.
