Back in October during an episode of Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns shocked the WWE Universe when he announced that he would be vacating the Universal Championship and taking some time away from the ring.

However, The Big Dog revealed the unfortunate reason for him vacating the title is because he has leukaemia and therefore needs to spend some time on the sidelines to receive treatment.

Reigns laid down the Universal title in the middle of the ring on Raw before walking up the ramp to have a special moment with the other members of The Shield before going backstage. Fans haven't seen him in the WWE since this night.

It's unclear as to when the former Universal Champion will return to action inside the ring, but he could be appearing on WWE television very soon after being seen at a recent event.

This week, WWE recorded their matches for their upcoming annual Tribute to the Troops show, which this year took place at Fort Hood in Texas and will be broadcasted on the WWE Network on December 20.

According to PWInsider, Reigns was at this year's Tribute to the Troops as it wasn't far away from where The Big Dog has been receiving his leukaemia treatment.

If the former Universal Champion does appear at Tribute to the Troops, it will be his first WWE appearance since his announcement.

Reigns did recently make an appearance at a Georgia Tech football game, but other than that The Big Dog hasn't been seen since he was last on Raw back in October.

The Big Dog's future in the WWE is uncertain due to his leukaemia, but many WWE fans have their fingers crossed for him in hopes that he is able to return to action in the ring sooner rather than later.

His health must come first, so it's unlikely that he'll be involved in any surprise match at Tribute to the Troops when it airs on the WWE Network later this month.
