It was a second consecutive 2-2 draw for Manchester United on Wednesday night as they came from behind twice to tie with Arsenal at Old Trafford.

After coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Southampton on Saturday, Jose Mourinho’s side can take a few more positives after picking up the same result against Arsenal.

It was a much-changed United side too.

Mourinho made seven changes from that side who drew with the Saints. Most notably, both Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku were benched.

There was also a first Premier League start for 19-year-old Diogo Dalot.

The Portugal Under-21 international played 90 minutes in a back-five alongside Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian.

But how did he fare?

Well, if Mourinho’s comments are anything to go by he did pretty well.

"But I think, I knew it, but [Dalot] come with a surgery and then when he was coming back he went to the national team and he played two matches in three days, had a problem again but I think Manchester United has a right-back for the next 10 years," Mourinho said, per Manchester Evening News.

"The kid Diogo, fantastic. Gary Neville must be thinking now Manchester United has a right-back for 10 years, a very good right-back for 10 years."

That’s a big claim from Mourinho but he might be right.

Dalot showed experience beyond his years throughout the match and demonstrated why Mourinho put his faith in him ahead of Antonio Valencia, who remained on the bench for the entirety.

Of course, the youngster will need to be looked after and nurtured at Old Trafford considering he only played eight games for Porto before making the £19 million move to England.

But there’s no doubt about it, there is so much potential there.

Whether Mourinho can help Dalot fulfil that potential remains to be seen...
