Liverpool fans have been watching Harry Wilson with a keen interest this season.
The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the biggest talents at Anfield and moving to Frank Lampard's Derby County presented a move opportunity for him to impress Jurgen Klopp.
And just 17 games into his loan spell and Wilson is grabbing the headlines, finding the net on seven occasions and bagging the club's 'Goal of the Month' award three times.
His latest performance was arguably his best, too, with the Welshman delivering two goal against Swansea City, including an absolute screamer to kick things off.
In fact, his showings have been so impressive that there's been speculation about Liverpool potentially recalling him in January and giving him an opportunity on Merseyside.
Wilson's incredible form
Asked about the rumours this week, Lampard clarified via talkSPORT: “There is an element where Liverpool can call him back in early January. That is a conversation between the clubs.
“Liverpool run a fantastic department in terms of looking after their loans players. We have a lot of chat with them. We will just have to see how that goes.
“At the minute he’s our player, and of course we want him to stay our player for the course of the season because he is contributing."
Liverpool's opinion on Wilson
You certainly get the impression that Wilson will not get his chance at Liverpool, but will it come in January or over the summer?
Well, it seems Liverpool are already forming a clear opinion about the 21-year-old and have been watching his Championship screamers very closely.
That's because Telegraph journalist John Percy has sought to clarify the situation for Liverpool fans and gave an interesting Twitter update on Thursday.
For excited Liverpool supporters, it's something of a mixed bag. Check out his post here:
Very interesting indeed.
So, despite Liverpool being 'delighted' with his form with Derby, they're more than happy to leave him in the Championship and it seems to be the right decision.
Wilson is enjoying such impressive form, that it would be beneficial for him to enjoy an entire season with his confidence high and progression prolonged.
That's not to say he wouldn't make the breakthrough at Liverpool, but he stands a much better chance in the summer with more game-time under his belt.
And pre-season would prove the perfect opportunity for Wilson to show Klopp what he can offer against Liverpool's midfield and attacking riches.
The future aside, though, Liverpool fans can simply enjoy what's proving to be a fantastic season for Wilson and one full of brilliant goals.
