It seems impossible for Loris Karius to escape the limelight.
Even after waving goodbye to Liverpool in the summer, his nightmarish performance in the Champions League final will always make him a figure of intrigue and fans have been keeping up with his showings.
So far, Karius has enjoyed something of a mixed spell on loan at Besiktas, although his mistakes in Turkey have certainly experienced more publicity.
Whether the 25-year-old likes it or not, he will always be associated with that disastrous night in Kiev and genuine questions were being raised about his career in the aftermath.
Gaffes in pre-season friendlies with Tranmere Rovers and Borussia Dortmund had some fans speculating that Karius simply hadn't recovered from the Real Madrid display.
Karius' performances with Besiktas
That considered, Karius' every move has been put under the microscope with errors against Malmo and Sarpsborg quickly spreading across Twitter.
What hasn't received as much attention, though, are his solid performances in the Turkish league that has seen him become something of a fans' favourite.
Just last week, Besiktas fans singled him out for applause after keeping a clean sheet in the 1-0 victory over local rivals Galatasaray.
Two brilliant saves vs Alanyaspor
And now Besiktas supporters are more thankful than ever for Karius after an inspired performance during the 0-0 draw with Alanyaspor.
Twitter became flooded with praise for the German after making not one, but two brilliant saves to ensure Besiktas returned to Istanbul with a point.
He made a superb stop with his feet from close range, before miraculously keeping out Alanyaspor in the final seconds by swinging out his leg.
You can watch both saves and the fan reaction down below:
For anybody who'd forgotten Karius' quality on his day, just take a look above.
Without the intervention of Karius, Besiktas wouldn't have taken a point and the relief is reflected in the fan reaction as well as punditry analysis back in Turkey.
Liverpool fans can speak for themselves how impressive Karius can be on form and it seems he's starting to rediscover his potential abroad.
There still looks very little chance of him pulling on a Liverpool jersey again and his performances aren't exactly matching those of the incredible Alisson Becker.
But Karius has certainly raised two fingers to the doubters, assuming you can forgive that calamitous moment against Malmo.
