After a gruelling 2-2 draw away at Manchester United on Wednesday evening, the Gunners faced a determined Huddersfield side at the Emirates.
It looked as if the Terriers were going to snatch an unlikely point, before summer signing Lucas Torreira's goal in the 83rd minute.
The diminutive Uruguayan acrobatically converted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's cross, keeping Arsenal well in the hunt for a top four place.
The fixture lacked any real quality aside from the goal, with Huddersfield intent on sitting deep and frustrating Unai Emery's side.
Arsenal's manager had to field a makeshift back-three after the serious knee injury picked up by Rob Holding against United.
Stephan Lichtsteiner was brought in, with the Swiss international replaced at half-time.
The one member of the back-three that really caught the eye was Sokratis, with the Greek international really establishing himself in the Premier League.
And there was one moment in the 87th minute which really caught the eye of Arsenal fans.
The former Borussia Dortmund man clashed with Laurent Depoitre in the penalty area, before giving him an earful.

It's the kind of bite that Arsenal sorely missed during Arsene Wenger's final years as manager.

After the game, Emery discussed how Huddersfield made it so difficult for his side.
"Tough match for us," Emery told Sky Sports. "I wanted to play with more rhythm in the match but they were moving with a slow rhythm and with all the passion we needed to play this [type of] match and at the end of it, we are happy with this victory.
"It's been a very big week for us and we wanted to win today for our supporters. We wanted to play better with a different rhythm in the match but we couldn't do that because there were a lot of stoppages in the 90 minutes.
"It's not just [difficult] for us, also for the opposition. Their plan was to play a very slow rhythm, go one-to-one in all the positions, which was not easy for us, and then a lot of long balls, second actions and a lot of stoppages in the match. For me, today was a very good victory in a very tough match."
