Canaries launch Holt appeal

Norwich have lodged an official appeal to the Football Association over Grant Holt's red card at Reading at the weekend.

Captain Holt was dismissed by referee Michael Oliver for a late challenge on Ian Harte - a decision which manager Paul Lambert labelled "nigh on pathetic".

The Canaries have until 1pm on Tuesday afternoon to send in any supportive material ahead of an FA regulatory hearing that afternoon and are helped by the fact the game was televised live with coverage of the incident from multiple angles.

Holt currently faces a three-match ban which would see him miss games against Leeds, rivals Ipswich and Derby.
