Details emerged over the weekend of former WWE superstar Big Cass suffering a seizure at a House of Hardcore show.
Only 31-years-old, Cass collapsed during an intermission. But, the former WWE Superstar was able to walk out of the building of his own accord, with promoter and fellow former WWE man Tommy Dreamer informing the crowd during the show, offering his prayers, and clarifying that the problem "wasn't drug-related."
Of course, wrestling has a rich history with drug-related fatalities and accidents, but it's good to see that Cass doesn't fall into that dreaded bracket.
Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com noted: "Heard from a few people who were there that Big Cass seemed to be OK on the stretcher outside, was awake and thanking people for their concern, but they still took him away in the ambulance."
The near seven-footer has had a difficult 2018. After sitting on the sidelines for nearly nine months with a bad knee injury, Cass made his return to WWE on SmackDown Live shortly after WrestleMania.
He then entered a feud with Daniel Bryan that almost no fans wanted to see and he was comprehensively defeated throughout, reportedly because of heat he had backstage in the WWE.
Subsequently, Cass would get fired in June and he has been rebuilding himself on the independents ever since.
David Onda was at the event and gave some detailed information on what happened backstage during Cass' ordeal.
Dreamer being right by his side throughout should come as no surprise. The ECW great is one of the good guys in the wrestling business.
There has been no further update on Cass' condition, what caused the issue or when he will return to wrestling. When we have such information, we will update this article.
We here at GiveMeSport wish Cass the very best in his recovery and hope to see him in a wrestling ring again one day.
