Frank Warren has stated that a fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury cannot be made because Joshua will refuse to take a 50/50 split.

Since Fury and Deontay Wilder’s bout last weekend, which is likely to go down as a boxing classic and one of the greatest comebacks in the history of sport by Fury, the WBC have ordered a rematch between the pair.

And when it comes to Fury v Joshua, Warren is convinced a fight will not be made any time soon because both Eddie Hearn and Joshua aren’t interested in Fury, but only Wilder.

“It can't be made, can it? How can it be made? The other side keep talking about they want to fight Wilder. I’ve never heard them once say they want to fight Tyson Fury,” Warren told IFL TV.

And even despite Matchroom and Joshua’s indications that they wish to fight Wilder, Warren believes they instead have their eyes on the winner of Dillian Whyte v Derek Chisora, which takes place on 22 December.

“He said he was flying out to LA to sit down with Wilder’s connections who live in New York, to make the fight,” Warren added.

“It’s a load of rubbish, they don’t want that,” he added. “It’s the winner of that (Whyte v Chisora), which obviously they’re thinking is going to be Whyte, to fight him (Joshua) at Wembley.”

Warren also hinted that it is Matchroom holding back talks between Fury and Joshua. Their strong demands for Joshua to be the A-side means there have been no conversations between the two camps.

“Tyson Fury will fight anyone, and I think Deontay Wilder is the same, if they’re 50/50 splits. These guys are what they are. They’re A-listed heavyweight fighters,” said Warren.

Asked if the fight being a 50/50 split is the only way they will entertain conversations with Matchroom, Warren concluded by saying: “You want to see that fight, that’s what it’s going to take to make it.”
