Prior to his arrival at PSG, Kylian Mbappe was primarily thought of as a young, dynamic striker with bags of potential and a bright future.
Since becoming a vital component in the side’s devastating front three and winning the World Cup with France earlier this year, Mbappe has gone from strength to strength.
Despite still being just 19-years-old, the PSG star has become quite the sight to behold on the pitch.
One player who is also crucial in bringing PSG their attacking prowess is Neymar. The Brazilian brought the footballing world to a stand-still following his world-record move from Barcelona in 2017.
Many believe the reason behind Neymar’s decision to leave was him wanting to move out of Lionel Messi’s shadow, cementing his own legacy. However, it appears that Neymar now has the misfortune of being overshadowed by young Mbappe.
Rumours began to circulate of a rift between the two, and that both players have been involved in dressing room altercations.
However, as the side travel for their UCL clash against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday, Mbappe has addressed these concerns.
As per the Mirror, the PSG star said: “I am getting along better and better with Neymar. Tomorrow he’ll show all the quality he has to help us win.
“It is up to us to step it up and show that we can play better than what we have shown so far.”
This isn’t the first time reports have suggested Neymar not getting along with his PSG team-mates, however. Edinson Cavani is a player who Neymar has also allegedly struggled to see eye-to-eye with.
In fact, the two were involved in an ugly altercation last month during an international friendly between Brazil and Uruguay.
Neymar must pass late fitness tests if he is to help his side through to the knockout stages.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel said: “Neymar will train with the group tonight he should play tomorrow is all goes well.”
