This week, a variety of emails have been leaked which portrays Virat Kohli's and former Indian coach Anil Kumble's strained relationship, which led to the sacking of the coach.
The emails were published by ESPNcricinfo which highlight what Kohli's issues were with Kumble as the prolific batsman messaged the Board of Control for Cricket in India many times regarding the issue.
Furthermore, Kumble admitted following his dismissal that both he and Kohli did not enjoy the best of relationships.
"Captain had reservations with my 'style' and about my continuing as the head coach," Kumble said, as per the NZ Herald.
He added: "The partnership was untenable."
According to sources, the email was leaked due to a disagreement of members of India's Committee of Administrators, including Diana Edulji and Vinod Rai.
Within this email, Edulji highlights just how important Kohli's role was in the dismissal of Anil Kumble, who lost just one Test out of 17 last year.
The same email also claimed that "rules were broken" so that Kohli's pick Ravi Shastri, who he has a close relationship with, could apply for the head coach role.
"Virat did not accede to Kumble continuing in spite of CAC saying so," Edujli first revealed.
"I see nothing wrong in women cricketers writing emails reg the coach.
"They were truthful in expressing their views, unlike Virat who frequently sent SMS's to the CEO on which you acted and there was a change."
The former Test cricketer added her "dissent is recorded when the timelines were extended for someone to apply (last year to coach Kohli's team), he didn't apply in time".
"Mr Kumble ... was subjected to loss of face and made to look like a villain," she wrote in the email.
"He was gracious enough to move on for which I respect him.
"Rules were broken and I had raised objections back then."
Regarding the current Indian setup, Kohli's side defeated the Aussie's in their first Test within their series against the Australians.
Therefore, India will be hoping for a bright future for their cricket side.News Now - Sport News
