The Road to WrestleMania is almost upon us, and that will begin at next months Royal Rumble event in Phoenix.
Plans are usually formed well in advance for the biggest show of the year, sometimes a whole 12 months before, but obviously road blocks are hit during the path.
The biggest one no doubt this year will have been the unfortunate news that Roman Reigns was diagnosed with leukaemia, he was almost certainly guaranteed a main event match at WrestleMania once again - potentially a Shield triple threat.
There's now an expectation that Brock Lesnar will hold the Universal Championship going into the event, he could face any one of a number of challengers, from Seth Rollins, to Drew McIntyre, or even a surprise challenge from The Rock.
SmackDown's plans look less clear though.
The WWE Championship picture currently isn't even the hottest feud on the brand, despite it involving Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles - that accolade goes to the women who are fighting over the title in a TLC match this Sunday.
Speaking of Styles, there's much uncertainty surrounding his future in the company.
His current contract expires in April, but reports have circulated that he will sign a new deal which will give him more time with his family at home, so he won't be on television every week.
Styles has already been involved in some killer Mania matches in his short spell with WWE. He was defeated in a great match against Chris Jericho in 2017, beat Shane McMahon in 2017, and last year successfully defended the WWE title against Shinsuke Nakamura.
And according to Joe Peisich on the Barnburner‘s No Holds Barred podcast, per Ringside News, Styles is set to go one-on-one with Randy Orton at WrestleMania 35.
The two have only faced each other once before way back in 2017, and it seems like a feud that has been expected for a while, but never materialised.
It would fit in with Orton's newly-established persona where he takes out the stars that the WWE Universe love, and AJ is certainly a fan favourite.
We've no doubt that Orton and Styles would put on an awesome match at the MetLife Stadium - whether it happens remains to be seen.
