Manchester United have been somewhat of a rut this season under Jose Mourinho, with the Red Devils currently sitting in sixth position already 16 points off the pace of first placed Liverpool.
Fans have been growing with disgruntlement as performances continue to disappoint, from a fragile-looking back four to an incapability to score goals from the front men.
However, Mourinho did show a slither of hope to one young upstart who has got fans talking after his inclusion in the Champions League squad against Valencia.
Mason Greenwood has been tearing it up in the 'under 19's' bagging an incredible 17 goals in 16 games and these performances have finally started to get the attention of the masses.
Greenwood along with fellow youngster James Garner, were on the bench for United's final group game in the Champions League - a 2-1 defeat to Valencia - but did not feature.
The 17-year-old can play either as an attacker or a midfielder but with United's troubles in front of goal at the moment if he were to feature this season it would likely be up top.
Compilation video's of his performances have certainly got people talking, especially in a period where the United faithful have very little to shout about when it comes to the first team.
Fans have also been crying out for the wonderkid on Twitter, with many crying out for Greenwood to feature against Valencia.
A post emerged of the youngster training with the first team and it had fans eager in anticipation.
The best United's U19 top scorer can expect this season is a few first-team squad inclusions, with the Carabao Cup is his only real chance of getting minutes - United early exit from the tournament squashed any chance of that happening.
It is highly unlikely that he will feature at all this season but keep the name 'Mason Greenwood' locked away as he could potentially be a huge star for United in seasons to come.
