Seth Rollins admits he is 'slightly insulted' by Brock Lesnar's Universal title reign

This past Monday on Raw, Seth Rollins told Baron Corbin exactly how he felt about the company's flagship show and dropped some home truths fans wish they could along the way.

A lot of fans have praised Rollins for the very real points that he made, especially those about the Revival and how Corbin has become a focal point of the show.

However, another target of the Kingslayer's tirade was the current Universal champion, Brock Lesnar.

Rollins noted that Lesnar hasn't even had a match on the red brand since 2002 and despite being drafted to Raw, the Beast only sporadically appears.

It's well-known that Lesnar is the highest earner in the company and he is only on a part-time contract. That's not exactly his fault, but it sure is frustrating to the talent.

Speaking on 105.3’s The Show, Rollins didn't hold back when talking about the former UFC heavyweight champion.

“He hasn’t been on a Monday Night RAW [episode] in sometime,” said Rollins. “From my perspective, as a person who is on every show, every week, I’m [doing] the live events trying to bring people into see these shows. It’s slightly insulting to me that he doesn’t. He’s our champion, he’s the face of our show and he’s not at our live events.”

Rollins makes a very valid point. In the Attitude Era, for example, it really meant something to be the champion. It meant the company's ratings were on your shoulders, you were the biggest draw and you were one of the primary reasons to get butts in seats.

Today, McMahon doesn't see it that way at a time when it means more than ever. Live event attendances are down and the TV ratings have plummeted to record rows in the past month.

However, Rollins talking so freely about Lesnar, especially on Raw, is a sure-fire signal that they have something in the works. Rumours have suggested that Triple H is lobbying for that match at WrestleMania 35 with Rollins going over.

If they are to start a programme over how to be a champion and represent the WWE, then there is no one better placed to do that than Rollins.

If they then choose to bring Roman Reign's real-life illness into it, fans may be turned off.
