Joseph Parker returned to winning ways in New Zealand this morning with a third round knockout of Alexander Flores in Christchurch.Coming off the back of two high profile losses in the UK against Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte, Parker started his road to redemption with his first knockout victory in over two years. After an edgy start, Parker appeared to win both rounds, before in the third round unleashing a flurry of punches that ultimately did for the American fighter.Flores was knocked down earlier in the round and then Parker finished him off, but not without controversy.Flores was upset after the fight, accusing Parker of low blows which led to the knockdown in that round."He hit me with a low blow. I felt it. As soon as I felt the shot I put my right hand down, he came with a left hand, then a straight right. It'll show on the video."Parker shrugged this off in the aftermath of the fight stating: "I'm the fighter. There's a referee who does his job and the judges, all I do is throw the punches and make them land."Alexander seems to think I hit him low three or four times. I know I hit him low once but that's the fight game."Boxing fans weren't too happy with Parker either, as they spotted his cheeky low blow shots.

After a difficult 2018 for the Kiwi man, his trainer Kevin Barry was happy with the way that he got the job done today.

"We were badly looking for a knockout to end the year with and I thought Joe looked tremendous tonight.

"There's a lot of frustration in Joseph Parker tonight… we had a big year but… came up short and Joe really wanted to let his hands go and get the knockout."

Parker will no doubt be keeping a close eye on the outcome of at the O2 Arena next week between Whyte and Dereck Chisora, and potentially trying to secure a rematch with Whyte if he gets through the Chisora fight.
