The ten best moments from the 2018 ATP Tour have been compiled and they are sublime

The 2018 tennis season felt like a year-long throwback as the old-guard of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic dominated throughout.

Federer got his season off to an ideal start back in January by winning the Australian Open before Nadal did what he does best, blowing away just about everybody on clay to win at Roland Garros.

Then, having been on the sidelines for what felt like ages, Djokovic came roaring back to win both Wimbledon and the US Open.

However, 2018 didn’t belong entirely to that elite group of veterans, as Alexander Zverev won the end of year ATP World Tour Finals in London.

The 21-year-old had a super year and looks the most likely to disrupt that top group of old boys.

He will have to wait for 2019 unfortunately, but he will certainly have his sites set on a scintillating season as he bids to move further up the rankings.

All in all, the 2018 season provided some incredible tennis throughout.

Now, the official ATP Tour Twitter channel has compiled a thread of the ten best moments from 2018 and it makes for some truly special viewing.

With the likes of Federer, Nick Kyrgios and Gael Monfils all making the list, it is no surprise that it is littered with some incredible stroke play and unbelievable touches.

Take a look at some the finest players in the world simply showing off.

Incredible stuff – they make it look so easy too.

Tennis players can earn massive amounts of money but with play like this you can see exactly why.

It is difficult to choose a favourite but Federer’s lightning quick reaction to adjust at the net has to be right up there.

However, Fabio Fognini dropping his racket mid-rally before catching it on the bounce and winning the point simply can’t be ignored.

The ATP Twitter team really have done us a massive favour bringing them all together in one place but it must have been quite a task to pick out just these few.

Here is hoping for even more breathtaking moments in 2019.
