Premier League stars Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas will put their club rivalries to one side tonight as they take to the field for Spain against arch-rivals Portugal.

Despite both recently struggling with injuries, the Liverpool ace and Arsenal captain were called up by World Cup winning boss Vincente Del Bosque for the friendly, along with other injury doubts Xavi and Pedro.

Torres picked up a knock in Liverpool's loss against Stoke on Sunday so is expected to occupy a spot on the bench tonight, but his loss could be Fernando Llorente's gain as he looks to make his mark on the national side.

"He is a very complete player. Because of his physique he may bring things that others don't. In a tight game you can send a ball forward and he fights well for it, lays it on and holds the ball very well too," said Spain captain Iker Casillas of the reported Liverpool target.

"The most recent example was in the World Cup (second round game) against Portugal, when we couldn't find openings and he came in and changed the match."
