Jurgen Klopp recorded his very first Premier League win over Manchester United as his side beat Jose Mourinho's men 3-1 at Anfield.Sadio Mane bagged the opener and Fabinho performed superbly in midfield but it was Xherdan Shaqiri who grabbed the headlines by coming off the bench to score twice.Liverpool's dominant victory, only soured by Alisson's error which allowed Jesse Lingard to equalise for United, means they overtake Manchester City and move back to the top of the table.Shaqiri made an instant impact upon his 70th-minute introduction but, in truth, the movement of all of Liverpool's attacking players was too much for Man Utd to handle.Roberto Firmino and match-winner Shaqiri summed up the large gap between the two teams on Sunday as they pulled off some lovely skills within seconds of each other late on.

Shaqiri starts on the bench - but makes the difference

Prior to Liverpool 3-1 Man United, Shaqiri, who joined the Merseyside club from relegated Stoke City for £13.5 million, had started each of the last five Premier League matches.

However, the 27-year-old began the clash with United on the bench as Klopp opted for Naby Keita and Mane in wider areas, with Firmino supporting main man Mohamed Salah.

In the end, Shaqiri produced two deflected strikes to earn Liverpool a thoroughly deserved win, and during stoppage time, he decided to have some fun.

Shaqiri and Firmino mug off United in stoppage time

After receiving a pass from Jordan Henderson, the Swiss international was isolated one-on-one with Man Utd skipper Ashley Young, so he whipped out the trickery.

Shaqiri produced a silky flip-flap (also known as the elastico) before firing a delivery across David de Gea's box that ended up with Firmino - and the Brazilian also wanted to toy with United.

As you can see in the video below, the influential forward played the most casual of no-look passes mere seconds after Shaqiri's skill on the other side of the pitch.

Will 2018-19 be Liverpool's season?

In the summer, many Liverpool supporters said that this season could be "their year", and while it's only December, they could be right.

The Reds saw off Napoli to reach the Champions League knockout stages and their best-ever league start has them on course to dethrone Pep Guardiola's Man City.

What's more, all four of Klopp's summer signings (Alisson, Fabinho, Keita and Shaqiri) are now having a huge impact on what was an already exciting and progressing team.
