By Mohamed Salah's incredibly high standards, the Manchester United victory was something of a quiet performance for him.Well, that's when you consider the Liverpool star was coming off the back of a stunning hat-trick against Bournemouth and saving his club's Champions League future at the expense of Napoli.Nevertheless, he didn't need to be on the top of his game when his teammates were delivering superb displays in abundance, eventually securing an emphatic 3-1 win.Sadio Mane made a long awaited breakthrough during the first-half, volleying past David de Gea after latching on to a brilliant delivering from Fabinho.Jose Mourinho's men were in something of a smash-and-grab mood, though, and surprisingly equalised when Jesse Lingard profited from Alisson Becker's mistake.

Shaqiri proves the match-winner

It wasn't until the second-half and the introduction of super-sub Xherdan Shaqiri that Liverpool truly flexed their muscles and bagged the victory.

Helped along the way by deflections from Ashley Young and Eric Bailly, the Swiss international secured a brace and all three points for Liverpool.

So, there was no goal for Salah but his actions were still being noticed by Liverpool fans and particularly after Shaqiri's two goals.

Images of Salah's goal reactions

Supporters have expressed mixed feelings about Salah's muted goal celebrations recently, sparking numerous theories and even concerns.

It's led to some fans questioning his passion or even citing arrogance, but a series of images against United show the perturbations simply aren't justified.

That's because pictures of Salah have been doing the rounds on Twitter of him passionately celebrating the Shaqiri strikes in front of the Kop end.

If there's any questions about his passion, these pictures raise two fingers up to them. Check them out down below:

The match footage shows Salah looking animated in front of the net, but the photographers have truly captured his unbridled joy.

Perhaps he isn't celebrating his own goals like he used to, yet a winner against United certainly gets his pulse racing at Anfield.

In fairness, it's hard to blame Liverpool fans for having their concerns in the first place because Salah is just so crucial to their team.

But his recent form and actions show Kopites can relax, sit back and watch his brilliant form grace Merseyside again.

United manager Jose Mourinho was certainly aware of his class before the game, telling the press: "He's a fantastic player, completely different from the potential player we brought from Basel to Chelsea.

He was a project of a player and now he is one of the best players in the world. I know a project of a player and now he is a top player."
