Ronda Rousey was roundly praised by the WWE Universe and journalists alike last night after defending her Raw Women's Championship against Nia Jax at Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

The pair had faced-off at Money In The Bank earlier in the year without a conclusive finish, as Alexa Bliss' interference denied the Rowdy one her first title reign.

But after winning the battle royal at Evolution in October, it set up Jax v Rousey part two, and the build-up in recent weeks has played off Jax being a force to be reckoned with after accidentally breaking the nose of Becky Lynch.

Jax was no match for Rousey last night though, with the UFC Hall of Famer putting on a performance beyond her inexperience and pretty much carried Jax to a great bout.

That wasn't to be the end of Rousey's evening though.

As it's well-known, she's had run-ins with both Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair from SmackDown Live in the lead up to and at Survivor Series.

She swore that she would come face-to-face with Lynch again and would get revenge on Flair - and during the main event of TLC last night, she killed two birds with one stone.

Whilst the pair were fighting on a ladder for Lynch's title, Rousey made her way to the ring, and shoved them both off the ladder in the process.

It paved the way for Asuka to ascend the ladder to become the new champion, and it's given both women a motive to seek revenge on Rousey.

And per Cageside Seats, Dave Meltzer revealed on the Wrestling Observer Live show that he's heard Rousey versus Flair is scheduled to take place at the Royal Rumble next month.

Many expected a triple threat bout somewhere down the line to happen, but the money match really is Rousey against Lynch, so there's every chance they're saving that for WrestleMania, where it deserves to be.

It cannot be argued now though that after putting on an amazing match to close out the pay-per-view, the women of WWE really do have a place at the top of the card.
