Manchester United's season went from bad to worse on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils have struggled immensely in the Premier League and are now 11 points off the top four following their 3-1 loss to Liverpool.

Jose Mourinho's side were simply outclassed by Jurgen Klopp's high-octane side, with Xherdan Shaqiri grabbing a late brace to secure the three points.

In truth, the scoreline flattered United, who were outdone in every single area on the pitch.

The midfield battle was probably the most one-sided of all, with Fabinho in particular dominating the likes of Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic.

Liverpool's dominance in the middle of the park and United's inability to hold on to the ball made Paul Pogba's absence look even more baffling.

Even with United chasing the game, Mourinho refused to turn to the French midfielder, with Juan Mata, Marouane Fellaini and Anthony Martial the subs used.

And United legend Roy Keane believes the club will now sell Pogba in the summer.

“I think the players are giving everything,” Keane said, per Independent. “I think there’s one or two players not on top form, the obvious one being Pogba.

“Pogba’s sitting on the bench, watching that game and not getting on, you’re thinking his days must be numbered.

“I don’t think they’ll do anything with Pogba in January but come the summer you move him on. It’s no big deal, he’s left United before.”

Given how toxic Pogba's situation at the club has become, his exit would probably be best.

However, should the club instead give Mourinho the boot rather than offload a player with such enormous potential?

After all, Pogba's performances at the World Cup prove that given the right guidance, he can be one of the best players in the world.

Ed Woodward and his staff have some huge decisions to make in the coming months.
