We’re 17 games into the 2018/19 Premier League season and it’s already been incredibly exciting. It looks as though there will be a title race with Liverpool and Manchester City setting an incredible pace, sitting on 45 points and 44 points respectively.Trailing in their wake are Spurs - despite their lack of summer signings - Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea and Unai Emery’s Arsenal. Then there’s Manchester United - who are already 19 points behind league leaders Liverpool. At the other end, seven points separate the bottom seven clubs with Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Cardiff, Southampton, Burnley, Huddersfield and Fulham all seemingly in a relegation battle. We’re almost at the halfway stage but how will the table look come May?Well, Sporting Index Points Prediction have worked out how many points each club will finish on come the end of the season.Boffins have crunched the numbers and they’re convinced City will retain their Premier League crown and achieve 97 points.Poor Liverpool are set to set a new club-record by picking up 92 points but could still finish five points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s side. Now that would be tough to take.Check out the rest of the table below (the latest point prediction is under the number 17).

Interesting.

To put it into context, Sporting Index Points Prediction used the same algorithm last season.

And after 17 games, their point prediction was fairly accurate.

LAST SEASON'S PREDICTION AFTER 17 GAMES

Let’s take the top-four. After 17 matches, they said Man City would pick up 98 points - just two away from their 100 point total.

As for Manchester United, they said they would earn 82 points - just one off their 81 points total.

They were five points off when it came to Spurs - predicting 72 points when they actually finished on 77.

For Liverpool, they were just one point again - predicting 74 points when they eventually picked up 75.

So, looking at last season’s success, this latest Sporting Index Points Prediction is to be taken very seriously indeed.
