Football News

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has dismissed reports of an impending deal to sell young goalkeeper David de Gea to Manchester United.

According to the British media, United are close to agreeing a £15million swoop for the 20-year-old De Gea, who has built a burgeoning reputation since establishing himself as the first-choice number one at Atletico.

However, according to Cerezo, there has been no contact with anybody about De Gea, and he was quoted as saying by Spanish newspaper AS: "Nobody has spoken with us. Nor do I have any idea (about this matter). We hope that he will be a Rojiblanco player for a long time."
