Paul Pogba's deleted Instagram post after Man Utd sack Jose Mourinho as manager

Christmas has come early for Manchester United fans after the club announced on Tuesday morning that Jose Mourinho has been sacked as manager.

It's been a hugely disappointing season for the Red Devils, who are currently sixth in the Premier League on 26 points - 19 behind league leaders Liverpool and 11 behind fourth.

And, naturally, most of the blame has been pinned on Mourinho.

United have become boring under the Portuguese, whose defensive style of play is the complete opposite of what Sir Alex Ferguson once deployed.

Mourinho's anti-football philosophy was to the detriment of several United players, such as Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez, who were both involved in training ground bust-ups.

Pogba has made more headlines than most in recent months for his relationship with Mourinho and now the Frenchman has made his feelings clear about the sacking.

The screenshot below shows what Pogba posted on Instagram shortly after the announcement but deleted 10 minutes later, for obvious reasons.

"Caption this!" wrote Pogba alongside a picture of himself staring at the camera and smirking. He even tagged United's Instagram account.

Pogba knew exactly what he was doing by posting and deleting the image and he's made it rather obvious that he's happy about Mourinho's departure.

And who can blame him? The 25-year-old has the potential to be one of the world's best players, but under Mourinho he's plateaued and come under a lot of scrutiny.

Pogba will only hope United's next manager - who will reportedly be announced in the next 48 hours - plays to his strengths.
