The reaction is flooding in after Jose Mourinho's dismissal at Manchester United.Although the writing has been on the wall for some time, many supporters were caught off guard by the news and some had even assumed that Mourinho would be given the whole season to fight.Performances have declined in recent weeks, with the club failing to build on a second place finish and the three trophies won during his debut season. And although there is support for Mourinho appearing on social media, thanking him for his achievements, the general consensus is that Untied made the right call.Speaking in a statement on Tuesday morning, the club wrote: "Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect.

Jose Mourinho sacked

"The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.

"A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager."

That was quickly proceeded by a bizarre Instagram post by Paul Pogba that many considered to be a shot at Mourinho.

Patrice Evra reacts on Twitter

As a result, criticism has been raining in for both Pogba and Mourinho in the aftermath, including from ex-players and pundits.

One man who is wary not to criticise either, however, is Patrice Evra who wanted to make his stance very clear on Twitter.

In response to the Pogba-Mourinho criticism, he penned a rallying message for United fans to come together and back the new regime.

Check out his tweet below:

Too right, Patrice.

Now isn't the time to throw criticism at people, the decision has been made and United must look forward to score their short-term future.

There's plenty of uncertainty at Old Trafford, so the coming weeks will be crucial in dictating their new direction in the post-Mourinho era.

So, although Evra can often make some questionable comments and decisions, he sends out a sound message on this occasion.

It's believed that Michael Carrick will serve as interim manager before the selection of a caretaker boss for the remainder of the season.

More updates as they come.
