There have been some truly great footballers to have graced the game over the years.
There is such a vast variety and number of truly great players that the task of ever choosing one player above the rest, or even a team of the best is a truly herculean task.
The debate surrounding who is better between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo has raged for years and is no closer to being resolved.
Every football fan to have ever lived has at some point tried their hand at crafting a dream team, be it from their own country, club or of all time.
And, every single one of those fans will tell you that there is always at least one player they disagree on.
Fans vote for best 90's team
The Twitter page @90sfootball gave fans the chance to vote for the best eleven players to have played in that decade and it caused quite a debate.
However, after thousands of votes from thousands of fans, an incredible eleven was eventually settled upon and it is difficult to argue that the fans got it wrong.
See the unbelievable side below:
Wow, just wow.
Every position is filled by an absolute legend of the game and you have to agree that the term ‘dream team’ is a terribly apt description for this lot.
In goal, fans went for none other than Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel while Cafu, Franco Baresi, Alessandro Nesta and Paulo Maldini make up an impenetrable backline.
In midfield, the combination of Luis Figo, Patrick Viera, French superstar Zinedine Zidane and Brazilian legend Rivaldo is enough to make any football fan salivate uncontrollably.
It is all brought together rather nicely though with the addition of a terrifying duo up front with Ronaldo (Brazilian) and Gabriel Batistuta leading the line.
Just imagine the kind of damage this side could’ve done at its peak - there simply would have been no competing with them at all.
It almost would have been too easy.
Even still, a side packed full of legends and World Cup winners would probably have been quite a joy to watch.
What a pity that it’s all just fantasy.News Now - Sport News
