Alexis Sanchez and Jose Mourinho's relationship at Manchester United reportedly turned sour.
Mourinho brought Sanchez to the club, signing him from Arsenal earlier this year.
Despite Sanchez's poor form to start his United career, Mourinho stuck by him and kept selecting him in the first team.
However, he's been in and out of the team this season.
So far, he's played just 474 minutes this term and has recorded just one goal and three assists.
With his playing time limited it was reported that the two had fallen out.
And that notion was emphasised after a story emerged which 'leaked' Sanchez's WhatsApp message to Marcos Rojo.
The Sun reported that he messaged Rojo following Mourinho's sacking: "I told you so!! Patience is all it takes. Rojo you owe me £20k."
Sanchez has now responded to the reports and, it must be said, his tweet deserves respect.
Not only did Sanchez state that the reports were false, but he also thanked Mourinho for giving him the opportunity to play for the 'best team in the world.'
He wrote: "This is FALSE!!!. José gave me the chance to play for the best team in the world and I only have gratitude for him.
"We are a truly United team. We are MANCHESTER UNITED. Respect. I can't wait to help the team !. Good luck tomorrow family!"
Fair play to Sanchez. That's a fantastic way of dealing with a report.
Mourinho will also be very happy to see Sanchez thanking him for bringing him to the club.
The Chilean international is currently out with injury, but new boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, admitted in his press conference today that he was close to a return to action.
"Lukaku has had a couple of days off, I’ve not seen him yet and I’ve not seen Alexis because he’s on his way back as well. I’m looking forward to seeing them," Solskjaer said, per the Metro.
