On a pre-Christmas Saturday stacked with major boxing fights on both sides of the pacific, the one on everyone's lips was at the O2 Arena in London, where Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora renewed acquaintances for a second time.

The grudge match, a repeat of the pair's first fight in 2016, saw Whyte stop Chisora with a thunderous left hook to the jaw in the 11th round.

Shortly after the fight, once Chisora had been lifted from the canvas after a short pause for medical treatment, the attention quickly turned, as per usual, to Anthony Joshua.

Never shy of a camera appearance, the holder of three heavyweight title belts entered the ring to a chorus of boos from spectators before he told Whyte he's third in line for a title shot behind Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.

Wilder, hot on AJ's tail, was quick to respond to the reaction AJ got in London, but stated he wants a rematch with Fury before a unification fight with Joshua.

"I heard they were booing the s*** out of Joshua," Wilder told FightHype, as per The Metro.

"I got some texts or whatever saying the whole entire arena was (booing him)."

Wilder made it slightly clearer what his planned route is for 2019.

Whilst AJ searches for an opponent in April, Wilder made it clear his focus is on a rematch with Fury.

"Right now, it’s all about enjoying the holidays, going into the New Year, enjoying the New Year, then getting back at it.

"So stay tuned. It’s an exciting time for boxing and for boxing fans.

"I’m going with Tyson Fury. For sure. We’ve got to do the rematch. It gotta come right back. It was a controversial fight and when it’s like that you’ve got to come back.

"There can’t be no draws. There’s a winner and a loser – you know what I’m saying?

"I’ve been travelling non-stop since that fight, and you gotta have the rematch because people are continually talking about it.

"All over the world they’re just talking, talking, talking. It’ll be dumb to just fight somebody else while you’ve already got a fight everyone is talking about.

"The heavyweight division is lit. So we’ve got to keep it flaming up, keep adding that log to it."
