Win keeps Chesterfield clear

Chesterfield remain two points clear at the top of npower League Two after a 2-0 win at Aldershot.

The Spireites went ahead through top scorer Craig Davies in the 61st minute and they sealed the points through Danny Whitaker two minutes later.

A brace from defender John McCombe gave Port Vale a 2-1 home win over sixth-placed Wycombe to move them into second place.

McCombe put Vale ahead in the 11th minute before Dave Winfield equalised with his first goal for Wycombe five minutes later.

But Vale sealed Wycombe's first away defeat of the season when McCombe's shot looped home in the 61st minute.

Rotherham are fourth after a 1-0 win at Crewe that came courtesy of an own goal from Adam Dugdale in the second minute.

Fifth-placed Shrewsbury were held to a 1-1 draw by Southend who scored a late equaliser through Anthony Grant.

Mark Wright had put Shrewsbury ahead four minutes after the break but three minutes from time Grant earned a point for the visitors with a neat volley.

Stockport substitute Greg Tansey's 25-yard goal earned the home side a 1-1 draw against promotion-chasing Torquay. The visitors went ahead just after the hour mark through Eunan O'Kane but Tansey levelled for County in the 75th minute to leave honours even and Torquay in seventh place.

Macclesfield extended their unbeaten run to six matches as Ross Draper's 23rd minute goal earned them a 1-0 victory at Bradford.
