Alan Shearer mocked a Man Utd fan who wasn't happy with his team of the week

Manchester United showed against Cardiff on Saturday afternoon that they could have much better fortune under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In the Norwegian's first game in charge, United scored five times in the Premier League for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson's last game in charge in 2013.

While many were impressed by United's performance, Alan Shearer still has his doubts about their quality.

Writing in his column for the Sun, Shearer said: "Manchester United were clearly much better against Cardiff but let’s not get too carried away as that wasn’t exactly difficult.

"The club is still a mess and one good performance doesn’t change that.

"They still have issues in terms of creativity in midfield and they look miles away when I look at the defence.

"They still have one of the best keepers in the world, but defensively they are all over the place."

And Shearer has shown once again he was not overly impressed by United's performance by refusing to pick any United players in his Premier League team of the week.

Given United won 5-1 on the weekend, it is perhaps a little surprising that Shearer didn't include one of their players in his team.

And, his decision angered a number of United fans.

One of them, @Jimgroom92, was not happy at all, writing: "United won 5-1 and not a single player gets in. SHOCK".

And Shearer could not help replying, and he did so brilliantly.

"It's been five months and I've been wondering where all the Man United fans have been! 🤔🤫😝🙋🏼‍♂️" he replied.

Gold from Shearer. He is right, though.

United have had nothing to shout about in the first four months of the season.

But, they have now become more active for the first time this season off the back of their result against Cardiff.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won 5-1 in his first game as Man United manager

That's the second time Shearer has mocked the Red Devils on Twitter in the past month.

A couple of weeks ago, the Newcastle legend was asked if he regrets not signing for United during his playing days.

To which Shearer replied: "NEVER! I couldn’t stand them then and I can’t stand them now!!! 🤣🤣🤣"
