It’s safe to say, Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho were far from a match made in heaven.

When the midfielder returned to Manchester United in 2016, it seemed like if anyone was to get the absolute best out of him, it would be the Portuguese manager.

However, that proved not to be the case.

The pair found themselves at the center of unhealthy arguments on multiple occasions and Pogba’s form declined.

And whether the Frenchman meant that Instagram post or not following Mourinho’s sacking, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the midfielder was happy to see the back of his former boss.

Of course, Mourinho’s departure made way for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival and if recent stats are anything to go by, Pogba has improved drastically under the latter.

As posted by the Daily Mail Online, the World Cup winner has been involved in a goal every 45 minutes since Solskjaer took charge, compared to every 189.3 minutes under Mourinho.

Pogba has also averaged four shots a game compared to the 2.9 he managed with the Portuguese and the improvements don’t stop there.

He has also averaged up to 95 passes in his last two games, 37.1 more than during his time playing for Mourinho this season.

Pogba only managed three goals under his former boss this season meaning one more in Solskjaer’s reign and the tally will be levelled.

Incredible what an impact a manager has on a player.

Of course, it’s only been two games since Solskjaer returned to the club and both have been against relegation strugglers in Cardiff and Huddersfield.

However, you can only perform against what’s in front of you.

And Pogba is certainly doing that at the moment.

United welcome 11th placed Bournemouth to Old Trafford on Sunday and the Frenchman and the rest of his team-mates will be full of confidence going into the game.

And that’s all down to Solskjaer.
